Festival season is getting started! So, whether you’re glamping your way around Glastonbury or dancing the weekend away at Isle of Wight Festival, it’s time to start getting everything prepped – including your beauty bag. Because while festivals are good for a sing-a-long, it’s no secret that the searing heat (or pouring rain!), muddy grounds and humidity can wreak havoc on your skin and hair. Keep yourself looking and feeling fresh – despite the portaloos – with these festival beauty essentials.

When going to a music festival, your beauty bag should be a fraction of the size it usually is, so you’ll be wanting to leave those heavy bottles and jars at home. Can’t be bothered decanting? Our deluxe travel-sizes are perfect. There’s the renowned Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish™ , to remove festival make up and face paint; Instant Boost™ Skin Tonic , to give that much-needed feeling of freshness; Skin Repair™ Moisturiser, to rehydrate skin after long days partying; and Eyebright™ Soothing Eye Cleanser , to wake up and refresh tired-looking eyes after a late night dancing. Want to get acquainted with this complete routine? Our Skincare Discovery Kits have all the miniatures you need to keep your skin looking radiant, just choose the kit with your preferred moisturiser.

Prime and protect

Even if your festival experience is an overcast one, your skin will still likely be exposed to the elements from the moment you step out of your tent to the last set of the night. Unfortunately cloud coverage doesn’t stop damaging UVA and UVB rays from reaching you, so rain or shine it’s important to make sure your skin is adequately protected. The solution however, is simple. Apply our Environmental Defence Cream SPF 25 after moisturising and before your biodegradable glitter to protect and prime skin for the partying ahead, making sure to reapply regularly throughout the day.

Wake up tired eyes

It’s unlikely you’ll enjoy a long, peaceful slumber at a festival, so it’s inevitable that the lack of sleep will start to show – we’re looking at you dark circles. Luckily, our Instant Brightening Eye Cream is on hand to visibly transform tired-looking eyes, enriched with British borage oil to deliver soothing hydration. So, you can be bright eyed and bushy tailed ready for another day of dancing in your wellies. For best results, smooth onto the skin every morning.

Does your post-festival skin need a little pick-me-up? Those late nights and trips to the food trucks can certainly leave your skin feeling a little out of sorts but it’s nothing a good face exfoliator can’t address. Our Gentle Face Exfoliator gently buffs away dead skin cells and impurities, breathing life back into the skin after one too many nights in the tent. If you’re a fan of our Glow range, the Smooth & Glow™ Exfoliating Tonic is great for evening the appearance of skin tone. Alternatively, if you’re looking for a low maintenance face exfoliator, try our Superskin™ Microdermabrasion Polish. Use once a week after cleansing to brighten your skin’s appearance as real-life resumes.

While we love the hot, humid months of summer, it can turn hair into a dry, frizzy mess. If you’ve been experimenting with festival friendly ‘dos, had your hair drenched in glitter or couldn’t bear to face the cold, festival showers, it’s likely your haircare routine needs a little TLC. To deeply nourish, hydrate and strengthen your locks, apply our Botanical Shine™ Deep Conditioning Hair & Scalp Mask from roots to ends and massage onto the scalp – it’s the perfect conditioning hair mask for boosted shine.
