At Liz Earle we are recommencing our search for an experienced Service Desk Technician to join a friendly IT Helpdesk based in our offices in Ryde. Responsible for the provision of 1st and 2nd line IT support during business hours, the role will be to ensure superb service at all times. So, what is this role all about?
Your responsibilities will include responding to and resolving support calls and service requests raised in the Help Desk.
You will make sure all service requests are logged and recorded accordingly, along with assigning relevant priority and managing stakeholder expectations. As a 1st line support, you will also ensure calls that require escalating are raised with the Service Desk Manager. Additionally, you will be passing incidents and problems to the Infrastructure team, Solutions team or 3rd party vendors.
A part of your role will be to make sure internal procedures and work instructions are followed as well as take an active part in shaping the future of the Liz Earle Service Desk by suggesting, recommending and defining new ways of working. This will include looking at ways to adopt elements of the ITIL framework, along with sharing knowledge and skills within the team.
And, Who are we looking for?
Simply someone with an IT qualification and relevant experience within IT Support in a business environment. An advanced level of IT literacy, including Microsoft operating systems and software packages, is needed whilst an understanding of ITIL and how this applies to the IT support framework would be desirable.
A skilled communicator, you have a genuine customer focus and flexible attitude. You love keeping yourself up to date with technical trends and new technologies and have a real passion for all things IT.

Our Service Desk is covered 7 days per week 8am to 8pm, hence willingness to work on a shared rota basis including weekends and evenings will be required. A valid driving license would also be beneficial due to occasional visits to our Cowes site.
