A fantastic career opportunity has arisen for an experienced Cosmetics Regulatory Specialist to join our growing brand. Based from our head office in Ryde, the role will be responsible for ensuring that the Liz Earle business complies with the UK and Global product specific regulations across ingredients, product testing, claims substantiation, artwork, and product notification/registration to mention but a few. With our unique brand story, expertise in all things naturally active, and continuous growth, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Regulatory Officer with a cosmetics background to be part of something truly special!
As the sole Regulatory Specialist at Liz Earle you will be working closely with the wider Liz Earle Technical Team and our counterparts at WBA International Regulatory Affairs. A large proportion of your role will be to ensure product compliance and correct registration/notifications across NPD and existing portfolio. You will ensure compliance with appropriate regulations in all markets we operate in, while also ensuring our internal Liz Earle and WBA policies and procedures are adhered to. You will also ensure that all regulatory intelligence and information on ingredients, formulas, testing and packaging is made available for the specific teams and is regularly updated and business impact analysis is performed.
Additionally, you will be responsible for claims approvals, collaborating closely with the WBA Claim Integrity Team to ensure product claims are substantiated in line with WBA policies and technical standards. This involves all pack copy and advertising and ensuring all related marketing literature is substantiated and compliant. To operate effectively and to manage risk to the business, you will allocate sufficient time to keeping up to date with regulatory changes, disseminating this information and assessing implications, while proceeding to raise awareness internally on the impact this has on the Liz Earle product portfolio.
Who are we looking for?
To be successful for the role you will be degree qualified with several years’ experience in the cosmetics industry within the regulatory area, including international exposure. You will work effectively under pressure across multiple projects. Your experience will be from a like for like Regulatory Officer role and as such, as a credible expert in the field of cosmetic regulations, you will have first class communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to influence and provide guidance to stakeholders.
You will operate well within a matrix structure, reporting directly to the Technical Director at Liz Earle, while working closely with our WBA counterparts across regulatory, legal, claims and safety. Extremely organised with first class attention to detail and an analytical mind, you will operate at the heart of our business managing risk and protecting our brand. An expert problem solver, you will have the ability to understand and manage complex and sometimes conflicting regulatory issues across multiple projects, suggesting and driving solutions to ensure no disruption to the product supply. This involves liaising with external bodies and authorities.
