An incredible career opportunity has come up for a Development Chemist / Formulation Technologist to join our winning technical team in Ryde. Responsible for driving and leading the development of new and reviewed formulations you’ll manage specific projects and support regulatory compliance to protect the Liz Earle philosophy and values. So, what is this role all about?
Responsible for New Product Development you’ll work closely with internal and external partners to develop and deliver new and exciting products for Liz Earle product portfolio. You’ll also be responsible for product maintenance and review areas for improvement. This includes keeping up to date on the latest ingredient and formulation legislation for all current and agreed potential future markets, ensuring formula compliance. Ultimately, you’ll be protecting our award-winning brand by developing safe, effective and stable products in line with the Liz Earle Product Integrity standards. This will be done in collaboration with our chosen contract manufacturers. Additionally, you’ll provide technical advice to your cross-functional colleagues working closely with sourcing, regulatory and packaging to mention a few. You’ll also be responsible for evaluation of formulation prototypes and present the results to key stakeholders. Furthermore, you’ll maintain our technical database (PIMS) to ensure the standards are set up and maintained for all formulation developments throughout the development process.
And, who are we looking for?
Formulation Technologist/ Development Chemist with experience working in a non-lab technical role. You’ll be degree educated in Science based subject and have experience in a similar role in a cosmetic, pharmaceutical or potentially food industry. Consideration will also be given to exceptional graduates with relevant internship experience and a desire to build their career in skincare & cosmetics. It is essential that you have a bias towards the use of natural and vegetable derived ingredients. The role will have minimal hands on laboratory involvement, hence it’s essential that you enjoy people and are comfortable operating in an open plan office environment with multiple cross functional teams around you.
A self-motivated and results driven individual with first class interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, you will communicate at ease at all levels. Confidence in using Excel with a love for numbers – functions, formulas and V look ups are your thing and patterns and trends excite you.
